They're in reality two different services - the domain registration is the actual name and nothing more, while the hosted domains feature shows the number of already registered domain addresses which you could accommodate in the same web hosting account and have site files and emails for them. Your sites will work in exactly the same way no matter if the domain names are registered and hosted in one place or are registered with company A and pointed to company B. Simply registering a domain name without hosting it will give you ownership, but will not allow you to have a web site if you don't host this domain name in some account so that records for it are set up and it starts opening the data from that account.

If you prefer to have everything in one spot, however, there's no limit for the number of domain names which you can register/transfer within your account regardless of the hosting package that you have chosen. You'll be able to decide if you'll host any of them or you will direct them to other existing domains.

As our Linux semi-dedicated hosting are rather powerful, we have now decided not to set any restriction on the number of the domain names that you can host if you purchase such a plan. This feature is unrestricted by default, not on demand or following some upgrade, therefore it is your choice how many domain addresses you'll add and how you'll use the system resources of your semi-dedicated hosting account. The plans are managed via our custom Hepsia web hosting Control Panel which will allow you to see and manage all hosted domain addresses in one location, removing the need to go through different accounts as you will need to do with other website hosting Control Panels. There is also no limit how many domain names you are able to register or transfer and it's your choice how many of them you will host in the account.
Hosted Domains in VPS Web Hosting
If you get a virtual private server plan through our company, you will be able to host as many domain addresses as you would like. You'll have your own server, therefore it's your choice how you will utilize its resources. You can register new domain names through the billing account of your VPS or add domain addresses that you've already registered with another company. Because we provide three hosting Control Panels for the servers, you are going to have different options for the hosting part - with Hepsia, a freshly registered domain name is hosted automatically on the server and you are going to manage all hosted domains in one location (i.e. there are no main and add-on domains), while with DirectAdmin and cPanel you can create a separate account for every single domain that you want to host on the server. The aforementioned option is practical if you wish to provide access to your domains to other people.
